Bad pillows and neck pains

Written by Carlo Badalamenti

Your neck is definitely one of the most tender areas of your body, even when we’re adults, we need to make sure that our necks are in a good and proper position whether standing up, sitting down, or even lying down. If you don’t, you’ll be giving yourself a stiff neck, and you wouldn’t want that bugging you all day. When it comes to sleeping positions, you really can’t tell what your body would do when you’re asleep, so it’s best to make sure that you are as comfortable as possible when you’re lying in bed. This includes pillows too, because bad pillows are a physical representation of a stiff neck waiting to happen. Think of bad pillows as sofa seat cushionsthat are too thin or too worn out to give you any comfort whatsoever. Sitting for a few minutes alone would make you feel uncomfortable and quite possibly an aching butt as well while you’re at it. Get pillows that have the right thickness and softness that would best suit you. Don’t automatically think that the softest pillow is the best one right away. You’ll end up waking up every now and then to keep adjusting your pillow because you’ll eventually feel discomfort with a pillow that’s too soft for you. If you want to get rid of neck pains once and for all, dispose or at least remove any and all pillows that make you uncomfortable when you lie down on them. Replace these with pillows that can properly support your neck.
